Does my Dream City Exist?
You know where I would love to live?

Somewhere where housing is still affordable, the public schools are good, AND there are jobs. Not just McJobs or you can sell stuff on eBay type jobs. Actual living wage jobs, the salaries of which could support a family.

And there have got to be Democrats or left leaning people there. I don't need a Leftist haven like Berkeley, but at least a place where there are enough Dems so that our issues aren't considered irrelevant.

Is this too much to ask? Is there anywhere in the country like this?

3. I am afraid that I've never been there
but I have to listen about why it's the best place to live stories all the time. I would think we have someone on DU who lives there and could confirm or deny those claims. Remember that Harry and David's is headquartered there so how bad can it be?

4. I just looked it up on Realtor.com and
while it's not sky-high, it's not much cheaper than here. Most of the things in our price range were trailers. Not to knock people who live in trailers, but I'd be worried they wouldn't appreciate in value.
