Danny Way of the U.S. starts his jump over the Great Wall of China on a skateboard at the historical Ju Yong Guan Gate, north of Beijing July 9, 2005. Way became the first person to jump over the Great Wall on a skateboard in an attempt to set world records for unaided height and distance. (Jason Lee/Reuters)

7. he did
and rolled away at 50 mph into a quarterpipe. He then tried to break his height record. That's when he fell.

8. First of all I'd like to see you try to even land a kickflip
Second of all, seek out Alien Workshop's "Photosynthesis" vide or Girl Skateboards' "Yeah Right!" video, watch, learn, and quit being so damn condescending.

(Sorry, not trying to flame you or anything. I just get really angry when people write off skateboarding the wayt you seem to.)

12. No not writing it off
I used to work at a Pizza place and some of the daytime regulars were a bunch of skateboardists. The running joke was that anyone who actually pulled off a trick, any trick, would get a free slice and a coke for a week.

I did see a guy on the way home from work one day skating near a Catholic church. This guy was awesome-all over and around the marble/stone benches-along the steps-really impressive.

14. You're still writing it off, because your attitude seems to be...
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 09:54 AM by primate1
...That if they have a skateboard, thaty should automatically be able to land their tricks. That shit's not easy. Hell, it took me well over a year of almost daily practicing before I landed my first kickflip. So that kind of attitude relly irritates me.

9. *cough* puss *cough* If he'd done with just a running start
I'd actually respect the feat. Any asshole can jump anything with a big enough ramp. Hell, with about a square mile of flat wood I could jump my own ego, but you don't see me bragging about that now, do you?

30. look at the video
http://www.santoalt.com/videos/210_Danny_Does_China.html
Most people would have just stayed at the top of the ramp in tears. Keep in mind people have died trying to jump this and they weren't even on skateboards.
