2. Its expensive, but
he is old, deaf, on medication for arthritis, and is very dependent on me. So even though I have other options, this is probably the best thing for him. One person who boarded her dog there told me he didn't want to leave when she picked him up!

12. You'll feel better knowing that your old friend is well cared for
in your absence. He'll miss you but it sounds like he will have the very best until you can take him home again..

3. It seems very nice. Have you checked on a dog sitting service?
I've been using a dog sitter for several years, and have been very happy. My babies get to stay in their own home, with their own stuff, and the right sitter will either stay at your home with your pet(s) or come by several times each day and also spend personal time with your baby.

The price would probably be about the same, but I prefer the sitter because it disrupts the pets life much less.

4. I have a neighbor who has walked him for me
but the thing is, he would be really lonely unless she were here overnight and I don't think she could. He gets panicky when he is out of his normal routine. If he were younger I'd probably have someone come in- that's what I used to do.

But this is kind of last minute, so I'll have to see what I can do.

6. Thanks. I really like that they have a swimming pool
He is a big long haired large dog and he has arthritis. Vets have told me that the absolute best thing for him is swimming. Because of the heat I try to let him go into the water at a lake every day and he loves it. But he's really just wading/walking close to shore to cool off. And by this time of summer the lake water is getting kind of gross and stinky from algae/bacteria.

If he stays at the spa they can work with him every day to get him to really swim and that will make his leg muscles strongeer.

9. You won't believe this but they actually have a jacuzzi
Pool is indoors, probably not heated, but he won't care. They get to sit in a jacuzzi afterwards. There's also a massage table and you can pay extra for the dog to get a massage.

Sure takes the guilt out of boarding him!

10. Hey, they don't call it a spa for nothing!
No they don't take humans, and I've never even been to a spa to be pampered. I think this is someones fantasy business- her brother made a fortune and she was able to create the perfect business.

Its pricey, but they get a lot for it.
