4. The first story (which you have second) is the best!

That one's my favorite - day by day creation, ending with the creation of man and woman at the same time, both in the image of God, which GOd is, in that moment, a plurality ("Let US make human beings in OUR image").

The fundy fucks like to put the two together, and make it day by day creation, ending with Adam, and then Eve. But in the Adam and Eve story, Adam is first (and Adam isn't actually male, he's an "sexually undifferentiated earth creature", the real meaning of the word, ala Phylis Trible), THEN God creates everything else (animals, trees, birds, etc.), and THEN, not having found a suitable mate for the sexually undifferentiated earth creature, God makes woman out of its rib, and she gets the name Eve which is a form of the verb "to be". So Adam (earth creature) is made from adamah (dirt), and Eve is a form of "to be"ness.
