Poll question: Least favorite natural disaster?
What is your least favorite natural disaster or what natural disaster is your least favorite enough to make you not live where it is likely to happen? This is a double question, feel free to answer it either way.

I was going to include Mr.bush except I ran out of room and he is unnatural anyway.

14. the locust is extinct
Seriously. Look it up. The Rocky Mountain Locust that we heard all those myths and legends about from the Old West times is now extinct.

No worries from Mr. Locust anymore.

8. A gay friend of mine...
years ago had a hysterical pseudo-scientific article about whether conservativism is the result of nature or nuture. Turning the "Is Homosexuality A Choice?" argument on its head, the article confirmed that conservatism is a genetic disorder. Funny stuff.

9. Been through a tornado and a drought
So those are the only natural disasters I feel qualified to have an opinion about. I pick drought as a worst natural disaster. A tornado only last a few seconds and you might not even know about it until its over. A drought last a long time and you never know when they will end.

However, if a DUer wants to say a tornado is worst natural disaster than a drought, I won't argue the point. I lived through a tornado but the tornado I lived through didn't do any damage to my house or cause any major bodily harm to anyone. Someone may have had a different experience with tornadoes.

But past such events permitted the ascendence of mammals, so it would only be my least favorite if it happened to us.

Followed closely in second place by a "Tsunearquami". This is what it will be called when an earthquake rips California off of the US and into the Ocean, causing a giant Tsunami to rip out to sea.

13. it's probably a matter of the devil you know
But I find it very scary out west with all those fires. I'll stick to the gulf south and put up with an occasional hurricane once in awhile. At least if I drown I'll leave a good-looking corpse.

16. Fire
I did live through the massive fires in California in 1993 and 1994 and they were god awful. Fire has destroyed so much through the years, and it's one of the most difficult disasters to control.
