When my cursor moves mysteriously by itself across the screen
Does that mean the IT people at work are checking out my screen, or could it be something with the mouse.

10. It's not a Feng Shui problem, dolt. I did a tarot reading, and it's
an Ionized Magnetronic problem. The poster simply needs to place a pyramid made from amethyst on the left side of the mouse, and a crystal of permanthenite on the monitor, and then do a cleansing ritual of burning one stick of patchouli and one stick of frankincense and two sage leaves and three basil leaves while chanting "om ramma dom, om ramma rom, ramma dom ramma, ramma om ramma om" over and over and sprinkling the work space with deionized sodium crystals.

Sheesh.

Feng Shui.

I can tell that you know nothing about science.

A circle with an up and down arrow appeared with a dot in the middle - what does that mean?

6. Most likely someone else is remotely logged in to your PC.
However, an errant mouse could cause that. Notice where the cursor moves to. If someone is logged on, the cursor would move purposefully
to certain areas of the screen. A mouse generated problem would have more of an meandering motion.

8. It's happened a couple of times
The cursor usually moves an inch or two in a straight line and when I notice and movie the cursor myself it stops.

17. Corporate monitoring is generally more sophisticated than what
you described. The would be watching your screen with no cursor action on their part. Mostly, they have software that records ALL of your keystrokes, downloads, emails in and out. If you work for a business and are doing things with your PC that are forbidden, you are likely to get fired.

9. It depends
if it's a wireless, cordless mouse, the battery could be low. That's how I know my own is dying out when it starts moving everywhere.

16. Had this happen to a co-worker...
using a laptop and docking station.

It turned out when she had last closed the laptop, she had caught a piece of paper or something on the touchpad, pressing it hard enough to occasionally move the cursor.
