1. Knox College
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 03:55 PM by new_beawr
http://www.knox.edu/

Knox was founded in 1837 by social reformers who opposed slavery in all its forms and believed deeply in the potential of every human being to learn and grow and contribute to the greater good of the community. One of those founders, Rev. Samuel Wright, was also the founder of Galesburg’s anti-slavery society and an active participant in the Underground Railroad, sheltering and aiding runaway slaves for more than a decade.

Proving its egalitarian spirit, Knox has been open to women and people of color from its earliest days. That same spirit may have motivated Abraham Lincoln to use the occasion of his fifth debate with Stephen Douglas—held on a platform on the east side of Old Main—to make his strongest moral argument yet against slavery.

Knox’s commitment to equality, tolerance and self-expression is alive and well today. You can see it in the cultural diversity of our campus, the free exchange of ideas, and the insistence of our students on having a place at the table when decisions are made.

With our tails up in the air,
University, university,
You can kiss what's under there!!!

Started

Lorain County Community College

Then

Cuyahoga Community College

Then

Ohio State University

Then

Cleveland State....

Finally, I had to be asked to graduate from CSU...

I had something like a total of 275 credit hours, 180 needed to graduate...

I just didn't want to leave and stop learning....

BTW, I graduated with a Poli Sci degree with enough accounting and business classes to sit for the CPA....
