I go away for a few days...I come back, and you guys are just as dorky
as ever! :grouphug:

In all sincerity, I really appreciate all of the thoughts, prayers and concerns for my mom. It has been an awful time. She went to California last Wednesday, and, on an up note, her newest grandchild decided to make his appearance three weeks early! Just so he could see her of course. She got to be in the room and held him at minutes old. Sometimes it's little things like that that help make the horrid turns our lives take a little more bearable.

Once again, DU, you have managed to come through and show just what kind of group we are. Caring, considerate....and always there for each other.

My mother was speechless when I sent her your well wishes.

All of the best to everyone here,

Laura

5. Yes I have. He is fine. He just could not take anymore. It's a really
long, and dysfunctional story that I'll tell you over 7-10 beers sometime, if we ever meet. I am just thankful he is okay. In a nutshell, they are two people that should probably have never married...and it took them 40 years and a bit of misery and heartache on both sides to figure out. He's sick about it. :(

:hi: They are improving daily. It's kind of odd to be stuck in the middle of it all.

8. Yes I do...I really do....
Last Wednesday, after a wonderful few days together with my parents, my father left my mother in the middle of the night after 40 years of marriage. He only left a note. Even with their problems, she was devastated...and I at a loss at how to make it better. I couldn't get a hold of him for a few days, so I was a bit worried.

Thanks so much Blondie! :loveya:

seven beers, I'll buy them.

You deserve half a dozen free drinks after having to go through that.

19. He's a BIG baby to have arrived three weeks early.
My son came three and a half weeks early, and he was only 5 lb. 10 oz.

That's a BIG boy! :D

seriously, I missed the news of challenges for your mother. What ever they may be (guessing health?) - what a wonderful thing that she was able to share in the emergence of her grandchild. I wish the best to her, you, the newest member to the family - and the family as a whole.

17. Your mom has been in my thoughts, Laura.
I can't even imagine how she must feel. It's a terrible situation...

But, on a brighter note, I bet she was happy as she could be that she got to meet the new Grumpy family member. :D

Give her a big hug from me when you see her again. Tell her that there is life on the other side of this horrible thing.

31. Well, I hope this doesn't sound sappy...
but I'm a person who sees messages in events. Perhaps the message in the baby coming early and her being able to hold this new little life in her hands is a message that new life awaits her.

Again, I don't mean to sound sappy, but I found new life after divorce (but, granted I had not been married as long as she has). From my teen years on, I had always had a male in my life, as a boyfriend--later as husband.

When my divorce went through, I was sad, but I had already begun the road to independence. And the independence your mother will feel will give her the space she needs to become a whole person...to become who she is, without male opinion burdening her.

Sorry to go on and on, and I know her loss is tremendous, but, like I said before, there is life on the other side of tragedy.

It is amazing the things you can find in your keyboard when there are little ones around. I hope you were able to get it fixed/replaced for cheap/free.
