Same chain of events,even the narration was just about word for word. I recommend it.

I thought it was much better than the reviews I read. Even my ultra-sarcastic, I-can-find-fault-with-anything 15 year old liked it. Sure the invaders machines only had three legs and that's not the "optimal" footprint for traversing the earth. Big deal.

..Not so great plot.....still, I walked out of the showing thinking something that usually spells doom for a Motion Picture.... "It could have been so much better"

although I've never read the book. I have to say that I like Tom Cruise the actor much better than Tom Cruise the real person.
