65. If you got her a Whirlpool Duet washer, you ARE a good hubby!
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 07:24 PM by Penndems
Our 15-year-old Westinghouse finally gave out about a month or so ago. Called a repairman, who came out, inspected it, and said "The motor's burned out and the ball bearings are shot. It'd be cheaper to buy a new one."

I mentioned that I wanted a front loading machine instead of the top loader the Westinghouse was, and was thinking about the Maytag Neptune. He said, "No, that's a piece of junk. If you're looking for one of the top-of-the-line models, go with the Whirlpool Duet."

So - we went to sears.com and, fortunately, they were having an appliance sale that weekend. Hubby ordered it, and paid an extra $10 to have the old one hauled away. It was delivered and installed three days later. (Thank you, Hubby! :loveya:)

Gotta tell ya, Matt - I absolutely LOVE this washing machine. Never knew doing the laundry could be fun, LOL. It does everything but load the clothes itself. Before I used it the first time, though, I had to watch a DVD that accompanied it to learn how to program its computerized "brain". All in all, an outstanding product.

Makes me wish our dryer would bite the dust, so we could order the Whirlpool Duet version of that!
