Speaking of milkshakes and malts...
has every restaurant in the world forgotten how to make a decent one?

I hate those cups of blended ice cream that allow the spoon to stand straight up. Why does everyone talk as if a "thick" milkshake/malt is a good thing? And don't get me started on DQ Blizzards...

The milkshakes and malts of my childhood had more liquid in them. The liquid had the consistency of cream soup, and there were large clusters of "thick" milkshake consistency.

And by the way, you should be able to taste the malt powder in a malt.

:end rant:

Who's with me on this?

But I'll remember that name if I'm ever passing through. :-)

7. Yes, you should be able to tell the difference between
a shake and a malt with one sip.

10. Try it with pale malt syrup, some time
available at any homebrewing store. Takes away that gritty texture.

12. Have you tried the Malt Shop?
It's been a while since I've been there, but IIRC their malts aren't too bad. You can actually taste the malt-- which is really the POINT of a malt, isn't it? :D

:hi:

13. Even they've gone over to the thick malt side
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 12:55 PM by Lydia Leftcoast
I specified a thin malt, but the very young waiter had probably never seen one.

:-(

I guess I'm out of step with the trends of the age.
