I've got a huge blood blister or something inside my mouth |
|
I was eating a cookie, and suddenly felt something on the inside of my cheek that wasn't there before. I licked at it, thinking it was a stuck piece of cookie, but it didn't go away.
So I looked in the mirroe, turning my cheek partly out so i could see, and there it was... a huge blood blister, I think. I don't know what else it could be.
It doesn't seem to hurt, and I don't think i bit my cheek.
I'm afraid I might bite it open. Should I pop it carefully with a pin?

If you have a convenient walk-in clinic nearby, it might be worth the $50 or so to have a doctor look at it. If you don't feel like opening up your wallet, wait another day. I have neevr heard of a blood blister inside the mouth. Usually a blood blister comes from pinching and bursting blood vessels, (and you mentioned you don't remember biting your cheek to cause this). That's why, if reasonable you should see a doctor just to make sure it really is jsut a blister.

too hard. Usually when I've been tense, or worrying about something.
It's not anywhere nearly as big as you think it is... And it's no big deal.

6. See a doctor, for goodness sake |

If nothing else, go to a VD clinic. Not second-guessing anything about your sex life, but syphillis is on the rise and the primary symptoms (could be what you describe) have the nasty habit of going away, then hitting you hard years later (brain, heart, liver damage). Blood test!

9. I clench my teeth in my sleep and get blood blisters all the time. |
|
I just scrape the corner of a fingernail over it and pop it. It heals very fast. If I don't pop it it takes days and days to go away, and bugs me the whole time.

11. Do you get the tiny polyps on the edges of your eyelids too? |
|
I always wondered if the two were related.
Just teeny tiny fluid filled polyps on the edges of my eyelids.... like you said, scraped with a gentle fingernail, gone.

I don't have anythng here at work sharper or more sterile than a paper clip.
I'll wait til I get home, and can use a sharp pin soaked in listerine first.

Use a kleenex or cottonball to clean it up. Or, if it doesn't bother you, leave it alone and it will be reabsorbed in a day or two.
BE A MAN -- POP IT!! :-)
