Browser help requested, please.

I use Firefox exclusively. For the past few days I've been getting the "Server busy; switch to/retry" popup box. I've also been getting a LOT of IE popups. I removed access to IE in Windows XP's control panel. It's very annoying. Can anyone help? Thanks!
