I guess I've been posting for a few weeks. I found DU through my twin sister, PacifistPatriot.

I live in Florida, have one son who thinks all girls are 'bootiful' and an apolitical right-leaning husband (through heredity, not thought). I'm a graduate of UGA, Go Dawgs! and like golf, decorative painting, long walks on the beach and yes, I like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.

I live in a very Red county in Florida and have a truly appalling U.S. Representative, the right Honorable Pinhead. I also truly believe my votes for John Kerry and Betty Castor were NOT counted or were changed. The numbers in my county just do not add up.

I have kick-ass parents who are as liberal as I am and my dad is a Vietnam vet who retired with 20+ years.

If I had my preference, I would be independently wealthy and spend half my time doing charity work and the other half floating in a pool with Buffet on the CD player and a boat drink in one hand. As it is, I'm a full-time working mom.

I came here through links posted in newsgroups and visiting LBN has become my daily routine. I registered and started doing some posting when I signed the Conyers DSM petition.

I'm a newshound and since I work at a computer all day I keep up with breaking news stories. DU is a great place to follow breaking stories and get everyone's reaction.

I think DU can be a real positive force in bringing attention to stories and issues that are ignored by the MSM.

And then there's the Lounge. Everyone here has a great sense of humor and I love to read the opinions and take part in Lounge polls. I love finding out about others tastes in food, drink, music, & culture in general. I posted my pic in Singles picture thread.
