Corpse, gurney fall from truck
:wow:

DALLAS The body of a Louisiana man strapped to a gurney fell from the back of a pickup truck today onto a south Dallas highway. Authorities say the driver was carrying the body to a Shreveport, Louisiana, funeral home after the man died Monday at a Mesquite hospital.

Dallas police Lieutenant Rick Andrews says the driver of the truck was not aware that he had lost the body. Andrews says the driver saw the open door, then retraced his steps and found the body.

Now, in all seriousness, if you were driving down the highway with a dead guy in the back, wouldn't that be about all you could think about?

Drivers swerved to avoid the corpse and gurney.

1. Now how is it possible that this is
an acceptable way to transport a body? Not that the body minds the abuse, but due to public health concerns?

2. In the back of a PICKUP TRUCK?????
Don't funeral homes use hearses or vans for body transport?? The after-death care industry is all about licensing, and I'll bet whatever outfit is hauling around corpses in a pickup truck is in some hot water.

On the other hand, they can put "He was a Ford Truck Man" on his grave marker.

4. Apparently, not in Texas or Louisiana...
You would think this would have violated some sort of inter-state commerce law or something...
