The Saga of Rove

Karl Rove's long life is one long lie.
And since his Young Republican days he'd try
To get what he wanted by machinations
Instead of hard work and honest relations.
"All's fair in love and war," he'd say.
And the political arena was his war every day.

But as the wind blows, so grows the tree.
And Mr. Rove grew up all crooked. He
Did not believe in honor bright.
Would never say "That's just not right."
Politics and party were his priority,
Instead of patriotism and his sweet country.

And so when Joe Wilson was one of the few
To stand up against the WMD claims untrue,
Rove had to discredit him forever more
Because he got in the way of their precious war.
And Joe Wilson's wife is Valerie Plame,
An undercover agent who has no name.

No name to Rove, at least, although
"Joe Wilson's wife" let Novak know
Exactly who and what she was.
And why'd he do it? What's the cause?
She's ON OUR SIDE, Mr. Rove, you see.
This is a treasonous culpability!

And how, for that matter, did you know
she was a spy? Who told you so?
It seems to me that this fuss and fire
Has a chance to go even higher.
He was, after all, hight "Bush's Brain"
Although now he's simply "Bush's Pain."

It's a sad story, all in all, no doubt.
Here's hoping Fitzgerald will bring it all out.
The last special prosecutor we had
Focused on lies about blowjobs and, well, that's bad,
But none of that ever approached the height
Of betrayal we've witnessed in this catfight.

So enjoy yourself as you contemplate JAIL
Because all good citizens are gonna wail
Against your treason. Yeah, it's perp walk time!
