"Afternoon Delight" is about lighting off bottle rockets or something. |
|
And I detest the notion that people insist on not seeing this obviously! Some people say it's about some stuff that would get this entire thread locked, but are totally ignoring that they talk about "skyrockets in flight" and obviously mean literal rockets or roman candles or something and even make it explicit about lighting them off:
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ignite
What part of that simple sentence do you NOT understand?

I really should stay out of the Lounge when I'm tired. The humor goes over my head. :P

...everything they hear. I don't like the idea of setting off Rockets in the afternoon either. The damn things could set some innocent persons Bed...ah..I mean, House on fire.

Well in Anchorman, it is framed as "making love -- the dirty kind" by Ron Burgundy. Comes with the DVD, it's a special feature.
According to songfacts, the real meaning:
This is a "double entendre" song inspired by the late-afternoon appetizer menu at Clyde's Of Georgetown (in Washington, DC). The other meaning is Diddy sex.
