7. and while I love being a Hoosier
too many times there are moments where it rather embarrasses me (and this is one, dan quayle is another, and let's not go to the ambitions of one of our senators (ambitions which I think are rather absurd.)

9. I come from the west coast
Washington State- though I've lived here a year and a half, this place is still relatively new to me. Seems the more comfortable I get, the more confused I get.

Haven't been seeing very many W stickers in Plainfield recently! Could it mean something? :o (Probly not much :P)

12. I grew up here -
well in Bloomington (which is sort of an anomoly to hoosierland) - and have lived on both coasts and the upper midwest before returning. The place still perplexes me.

In June I saw significantly fewer "ribbon" magnets when driving between Indy and B-ton. However, recently - they are baaacck (though no where close to the number that were present after the state of the union address - oddly they didn't appear in mass until after the election.)

15. I've heard Bloomington's cool
I haven't been there, yet! I rarely travel outside of Plainfield, and when I do, it's to Indianapolis or Mooresville (ick ick ick).

I'll keep an eye out next time I leave my apt- if the ribbons are back I'm bound to see them here too.

16. There is a great Cajun restuarant in Monrovia
(between Mooresville and Plainfield) - tucked in the middle of nowhere. Can't remember the name - but it was quite festive.

If you ever have the chance one of the best Farmers Markets I have ever attended is in Bloomington (and I have been to them in the SF Bay Area, Ann Arbor, Bellingham Wash, Woodstock Vt, and Arlington Va.) is in Bloomington. But to get the full flavor one has to get there before 9:30 am on Saturday morning. Starts dwindling down by September.

If you ever get the chance - Go - it is charming and has tons of produce, plants, and grain-fed (eg no chemical) meat. Not to mention a number of political or progressive-issue booths/tables.
