I've decided that DSL is too damned expensive and want to go
back to dial-up. Does anyone recommend a particular dial-up
service that's not too pricey and is relatively fast?

1. Localnet

I always had good service with them. The price was $9.95/month with unlimited connection times. I stayed on for days without getting booted.
The connection hit some fast speeds at times, but you are always going to be limited by the quality of your local phone lines.

2. Earthlink - in the experience of my clients - is pretty good. Make

sure to get their accelerator and you can get up to 45K download. Also get the updates for your modem.
