Honestly, I think many people especially in most U.S. areas with NHL clubs except for maybe Minnesota and Boston will not be coming back. I can see a place like Tampa Bay, the last Stanley Cup champions, will see attendence down in the low 1,000's. Fans in Canada may well come back. However, the NHL is going to have their work cut out for them to get fans back to the arenas.

As for me, I think I will stick to minor league hockey for now. I will be looking forward to watching the Long Beach Ice Dogs when I move to Southern California.

5. college hockey is better anyway
no fighting--game is more about skating and play-making.

6. The fighting is half the fun
Some of my favorite hockey moments were great fights, such as the beat-down Darrin McCarty put on Patrick Roy, or the Osgood/Roy brawl. Great moments in a great rivalry.

Not that I don't like college hockey, it's fun to watch.

9. I used to love watching the Bruins and the North Stars back in the day
As a lad, I remember going to many of their fights and halfway through a hockey game would break out. :dunce:

7. There's not that much fighting in the NHL anymore.
And that's not necessarily a good thing. Self enforcement looks like it worked better than ref enforcement.

8. From what I can tell,
me and my fellow Pittsburghers are looking forward to the return of Penguins hockey. Our ticket prices haven't been bad at all, and I'll be there.
