Anyone see that footage of the swordfish that attacked a fisherman? |
|
I saw the video the other day on the news and also this morning. I was trying to find the story and maybe the footage to show someone here at work. I did some searches and came up with nothing. I thought I would see if anyone had a link or some information about that attack. It was, I believe, a swordfish that the guy caught and it ended up piercing him or something. Anyone?

1. I saw the video last night on John Stewart |
|
The guy was reeling in a huge swordfish and as he was doing so, it tailwalked up to the boat and stabbed the buy in the torso with it's beak. It happened really fast, but they showed the guy laying on the floor with a hole in him.

3. I've got to say, I think 'defended itself against the fisherman' |
|
is more appropriate here. The boy doing the fishing definitely started the fight. Not that I'm against fishing, but if you can't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined.

17. I would say self -defense for sure |
|
with the appropriate video footage to back up the claims of the fish
Now tell me, what would YOU do to get a huge fishook attached to the end of a pole reeling you in OUT of your mouth?
"But your honor, the way he came at me, I just KNEW he was attacking me, you could tell by the way his BEAK just came at me for no reason" (sorry, could not resist)
On another note - Betcha Bill to Bob they sue the fishing boat guy

"....The undersigned hereby disclaims all rights and remedies against DipShit Fishing, Inc., for any injuries sustained while reeling in wicked-huge aquatic species. This establishment is not liable for any damage caused by negligence in handling rogue swordfish beaks...."
Sign right here sir.
I wonder if they have a specific "waiver" or if there is any "Assumption of Risk" against a giant fish actually impaling you with its sword-beak. Probably not. Well, there will be now.

11. Right! Why the hell do you think they have that damned sword anyway! |
|
Doesn't make much sense not to use it!
Not to piss off the fishers around here, but I don't know how someone could kill something so majestic.

9. They didn't answer the key question though..... |
|
...Did they land the goddamn fish??
Because it would really suck to get wounded in the battle and not take that bastard home with you. That was one pissed off Marlin!

18. ...typically you wouldn't land one that big.... |
|
...can't really eat it, it'd be full of mercury. Usually you take a pic and let it go. Never seen one tail walk up to a boat like that...
