Name me a good samurai film

Skip the obvious Akira Kurasawa, Lone Wolf and Cub, Musashi Miyamoto and Zatoichi.
I just rented House of Flying Daggers. That was the best that blockbuster had

though it's Chinese, not Japanese (no one calls themselves Samurai).

7. Hero....one of the best movies I've seen in years...House of Flying

Daggers, too. Even though not Japanese...it's of the same kind of "cultural ethic" (if that's the term..:eyes:)

6. Well.....if you can find the miniseries...James Clavell's Shogun is really

good and a great Summer escape. Lot's of Samurai culture...and interesting dialog, scenery and historical info.

You might find it on Amazon or E-Bay, also "Critic's Choice Video" online. If you haven't already seen it. Richard Chambelain starred in it...along with some interesting Japanese actors.
