I'm recovering from surgery.
I had my cyst removed today. I had never had surgery before, so I was nervous. The worst part of it was getting the IV in because I had a nursing student from the local community college do it. It seemed like she had only done it a few times before, because she kept re-arranging the tape and pulling on the needle. Anyway, I'm doing very well and resting comfortably, but y'all might not hear from me for a couple of days because of my pain pills.

1. Take care, dear
Hope you feel better soon.

PS - What did they give you for pain? Hope it's helping and that you are resting comfortably! :hi:

4. I got Percocet and Lorcet.
I feel just fine. Peeing is pretty hard, though. And I'm still walking like a crab.

the stoppered pee line is a side effect of the pain meds, right? You'll be constipated, too. Don't worry, it'll all come out okay in the end......

on edit: ooops, just read the rest of your posts and saw where the cyst was. Okay, that might have something to do with it too. *blush*

2. owie. I had one removed from my arm. Have a great scar.
I think I'll get a tattoo for it. I hope you
recover quickly, sweetie. Huggies for you.
By the way, can you get a tattoo? ;)

3. Uh, not where this cyst was.
It was between my clitoris and my urethral opening. Not the best place for a tattoo. It was because of its location that I had to be put under general anesthetic instead of just local. Usually they just remove cysts in the doctor's office, but this one was just too painful. Thanks for the hugs!

6. Oh, yoweeeeeee!!! For local pain relief, you can...
...fill a condom with water and freeze it. Then, just place it on the incision for ten minutes, or so.

Hey, it works.

9. Glad you're doing well.
Sorry about the IV (been hacked up more times than I'd like to remember). I hope your recovery continues to go well. One (semi-personal) word of advice. The more pain pills you take, the more you increase your fiber and water in your diet. Trust me on that one.

Feel better.

14. Oh yeah. I'm drinking tons of water and Metamucil.
I'm feeling pretty good today. I'm not in a whole lot of pain, but I'm getting ready to take my pain pills anyway. I just thought I would post a little before I drift off into my drugged stupor.
