I loved one girl
I was once engaged, and I loved her with all my heart. I didn't see her for ten years, but a few months ago I ran into her. She left me for a guy who was 10 years younger than me back then, but he freaked out on her and they split.
Tonight I saw her again and she is just as lovely as ever. We danced and talked and laughed, and I asked her to come home with me. I told her we didn't have to do anything, just hang out, but she asked me for my number and said she doesn't want to go home with me, but she might call me. We talked like we did when we were together, she is the perfect companion to me and we acted like we did as a couple. She asked for my number and I gave it to her.
My question, will she call? Or will she be gone forever?

1. She'll Call
Or she won't.....

Just remember the good time if she doesn't

And make new ones if she does....

3. Her and I were a great team
Even tonight we were just like we were back then. I think she saw that too.

2. If you're lucky, she won't call.
Nothing will ever be as good as you remember it. Some people belong in the past.

4. Well, tonight we were the same as we were
She is just as funny as she used to be, and we were just as funny together as I remember we were. So, that blows your theory.

6. But we don't know her "theory."
Unfortunately.

Makes it kinda hard to answer your question.

10. the only thing that will blow my theory is if you hook up, and...
...don't have your heart broken again.

Sorry to be blunt, but she already jerked you around once.

I wish I could believe I'd be wrong, but I don't.

12. I know
I think it could happen again. She is just too beautiful. I doubt she will call, but it is a nice thought.

14. It reminds me of that scene from the movie City Slickers..
Mitch (Billy Crystal): “You ever been in love?”

Curly (Jack Palance): “Once, I was driving a herd across the Texas panhandle. Passed through this little dirt farm about sundown. Out in the field was this young woman working down in the dirt. Just about then, she stood up and stretched her back. She was wearing a little cotton dress and the settin’ sun was right behind her showin’ the shape that God had given her.”

Mitch: “What happened?”

Curly: “I just turned around and rode away.”

Mitch: “Why?”

Curly: “I figured it wasn’t going to get any better than that.”

Mitch: “Yeah, but you could have been, you know, with her?”

Curly: “I’ve been with lots of women.”

Mitch: “Yeah, but, you know, she could have been the love of your life.”

Curly: “She is.”

5. Maybe
if so, great; if not, chalk it off to a wonderful night spent w/ a great woman.

And write some songs about it..

15. Maybe she will, I sure hope so...
I've revisited lost loves and wouldn't take millions for those fleeting moments. Take the chance.
