1. 117! Holey Moley!
I live in Florida and we are going to be at about 94. I can't imagine it being 117 down here, then having 100% humidity...heat index would be 500 degrees or something!

19. I live in the same area as Coventina, and I'll tell you--I'll take our
oven for your steam cabinet any day

You have it far worse than we do.

2. Its those below one-hundred days that I live for.
...and up here in Northern Wisconsin we get six months worth of 'em every year. We've named a season after the phenomenon; "winter."

3. Here in New Delhi, India
All of May and June are 100+ days (maximum sometimes touches 115). But it is dry, with low humidity.

Come July, the monsoon starts and it starts raining almost everyday. Now, it is 85 for high, with a humidity of almost 90%.

14. Our monsoon is named after your monsoon.
But our monsoon is nowhere near as dramatic as yours.

And we may not get one this year.

:-(

6. And I am going to Marana to walk the Picketline with the miners...
While I support their cause, could they have picked a less heated time of the year?

7. You have my admiration. I'm up this early Sunday am because
I'm going to hit the grocery store when it opens here in about 15 minutes.

I do NOT want to be out in the heat this afternoon!!!

10. I stayed up all night to make sure I was awake to catch my ride.
I normally work swing so this is usually when I am snoring blissfully away...

But good for me that the latest Potter book came out...I finished it and now wonder when the next one comes out? 2013?

12. Argh! Don't get me started about Harry Potter!
I'm very bitter at Amazon right now. My copy is currently somewhere in the US postal system. I'll bet it's being shipped 3rd class & I may get it before book 7 comes out.

I don't want any spoilers, but I want to ask 2 questions:

1. Did you like it?
2. How many pages is it?

15. 652, and it makes a lot more sense now so yes I did like it.
I love learning the history and WHY things happen and this book has a ton of that.

11. Good for you
I know a couple of guys who are picketing at the mine south of Tucson.

Take LOTS of water and stay hydrated.

17. Is the picket line in Silver Bell or Marana?
I worked one summer at Silver Bell, 1970 if memory serves me well.

9. my kids' dad is in tucson
i lived there for many, many winters, but i always had to get out by may and return in november. he is still there and so is one of my daughters!

i'm in northern new mexico, and we're having a heat wave, too. we've had very little rain for monsoon season. it may cloud up, but no rain. that means the house never cools off.

BUT!

we live through it to get to the fall, my favorite season....
