deathly afraid of needles and doctors offices...
Last time I was in, I had to have blood drawn. Was doing fine but then I had a panic attack and passed out. The doc was scared, cause I guess it hasn't happened to him before. lol.
I have to schedule a doc appt for my boosters but man, it's going to take some courage! *deep breaths* :D

The one time I donated blood I almost went into shock. The Doc called me later to check on me and told me he'd considered putting it back!

14. Speaking as a newly retired nurse/phlebotomist... |
|
allow me to recommend that you not take too many deep breaths! Here's why: When you deep breathe in and out, you tend to blow off the carbon dioxide in your blood, and this can make you quite light-headed. Just breathe normally and try to think about something else, something pleasant. You might consider warning whoever is drawing your blood that you tend to not tolerate the procedure well...A heads up is always appreciated!
And good luck!

9. I don't mind getting my blood drawn any more. |
|
I have to do that all the time because of some medicine I take. But I detest IVs and it's been over 35 years since I've had to get a shot. It's hell being needle phobic.

Our company commander insisted that we slam each other in the injection site with the butt of our drill rifles. It was supposed to help "spread it out." Sadistic bastard.

|
I detest IVs and giving blood. My veins are tiny and they tend to float away from needles, so I have a terrible time with needles now. Didn't use to bother me but nowadays I can easily have a panic attack at the thought of having to be poked and prodded by phlebotomists. Yikes! :scared:

You try to move around and forget about it and then you move the wrong way and it pulls. They aren't really fun, but they aren't too bad.

if you are interested. I don't blame you about the IV (ruins the string of prime numbers!).
