So I'm watching a DVD of the Breakfast Club right now. Judd Nelson... |
|
it is his crowning achievement and that seems so bizarre to me now. It's so crazy seeing it and not being an adolescent and wrapped up in that awful/wonderful emotional whirlpool.

Mutual hate is the strongest bond, after hour-old semen, that is.

Yes, the movie is odd to me now somehow.
Molly today is so nothing like Molly of then.
AMH got all buff and weird.
Judd Nelson? Is he still acting?
Emilio? Over...

6. I love that movie to this day. |

John Hughes was great before he started doing shit like Baby's Day Out.
I grew up in Shermer. If you look on a map, it's not there, but it is a real place. The North Shore suburbs of Chicago. Modern day Northbrook and Glenview were known as Shermerville until about the turn of the 20th century.
The John Hughes teen angst movies depict the area and the personalities found within quite well.
My pre-school was at Maine North, the school from Breakfast Club. It would have been my high school, but when the population dropped, the school district sold building to the Illinois State Police, and I was sent to Maine East. Just some personal trivia.

Did he direct the Blues Brothers too?
On edit John Landis did that one. Still, the man knew how to do a Chicago area flick like nobody else!
