Moonies just came to my door!

So, this woman came to my door and explained that she was a "missionary" selling magnets for a cahrity in her country. She was very nice, but when she showed me her literature, it turned out to be from a Moonie group!

I politely told her "No thanks, we give to charities through our own faith." I wanted to say, "Go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all full up here!"

I'm still :rofl: ...I don't know why it hit me as so funny, but it did...

3. Well, I know I'm stepping into it here but

I don't really see how the Moonies are any crazier than the christians (or the scientologist either, for that matter). I sit and watch the ridiculing of scientology on this board as well as that of other non-mainstream beliefs and wonder where the tolerance is.

No, I don't appreciate people soliciting at my door and I'll send them away with a bee in their bonnet too but I see nothing wierder in the Moonies than I do in the belief that we're all descended from two people, one made of mud and the other from the first one's rib or that the omnipotent being somehow got a human woman pregnant with his kid who was subsequently tortured and killed only to rise again.

If people here ragged on christianity like they do scientology, they'd have people jumping all over them. And rightly so.

People's spiritual beliefs may be "crazy" to you but they're beliefs to those who hold them.

And as I said, I don't much like having people come to my door to proselytize but I also don't like people telling me that jesus loves me.

4. I'm surpised that no moonies never came to my door...

but the weird thing is that I once had some Mormons that came to my door looking to convert me. I thought it was weird because to begin with, I didn't know there was Mormons in the area where I live, and also I didn't even know that they even go door to door in order gain followers. :shrug:
