17. How did Season 5 suck, exactly? |
|
I've never seen anything as good on TV as the last few episodes, where they wrapped up five years worth of plot developments.

21. IMO it sucked because JMS had a story arc he worked with in the begining |
|
He just seemed to rush season 4, and then 5 just felt like he was making it up as he went along (with the change in cast and what not). It really felt rushed to me.

USS Defiant could whoop any B5 ship, plus it looked way cooler.
Deal with that!

It was a group effort, it was character driven, and it didn't have a megalomaniac at its helm.

B5 was a total vision and a spiritual journey. DS9 was a good episodic SciFi show.
The B5 creator mapped out the entire five years of the show before the first episode was ever filmed.

Neither show's dialogue or acting was stellar, but for ideas and plotline, JMS was the singular strong hand at the tiller whereas Brannon/Braga's team had no central plan.

10. Babylon 5 beyond a doubt. And just down the road a few years, it seems |
|
like life imitated art. Before I gave up listening to news on the radio and watching televison news, I was astounded at the resemblance of our current day media to B 5's ISN news.......

11. I prefer B5, but I'd watchn any Ep of DS9 written by Ron Moore |
|
He wrote some of the best DS9 eipsodes. He had to get practice for Galactica somewhere.

Oh well, he was great as Garibaldi (and I loved how he and the doctor went undercover to Mars as a same-sex couple on their honeymoon!).

I loved both of those shows. DS9 is my 2nd favorite of the ST franchise, and i thought B5 was terrifically done. Lots of intrigue and cloak & dagger in both of those shows. I picked DS9, but it was a coin flip, really. The Professor

20. No comparrison, Babylon 5 blows DS9 out of the water |
|
With the story arc that JMS was able to keep with (up till Season 4 and 5 when it went downhill IMO I think he was more making it up as he went along).
But even at its worst, B5 was better than DS9 at its best.
