What's your favorite holiday or observance? |
|
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 11:25 PM by mvd
I don't think we've had one of these threads that covered the whole year. They can be anything from New Year's to Memorial Day to Valentine's Day to Canada Day to a religious observance to Halloween. You can include the 4th of July, but don't choose your birthday. I didn't make it a poll due to probable complaints that something was left out. As you might have guessed, my favorite is Christmas.

And it occurs at home, not a parade or a bar. Food, friends, music and drink. Actually, any holiday that gives me an excuse to cook and have a party.

Nice meal with family and friends - nice crisp weather - college football on TV - one-day event (if you don't have to cook it all) - NO STUPID GIFTS TO BUY.

The lights and the gifts and (for me) the whole baby deal...the goodwill toward men and peace on earth stuff...
Too bad it comes in cold, dark at 4pm, gross December.
One year I must celebrate it in a warm climate. I think it would rock!

7. Definitely, Christmas comes in first.... |

Thanksgiving is a close second. They both have to do with love and family and friends being close...A very giving time of year for me.
