My oped on Rove...
Why is everyone here in a frenzy of lust over Rove?

How is it that Bushco has gotten away with crime after crime, and this is going to make a hill of beans?

Rove will come out smelling like a rose, mark my words.

2. I am politically patient. I shall wait...
and hope for the poo to cling.

I signed petitions to send to DUH-bya, but my bet is, he'll never know about them.

3. I disagree
Rove is finally getting a taste of his own medicine. Why is this a big deal? It goes to the very heart of the way bush inc operates - they are slimy bastards and their "moral compass" bullshit is collapsing. Rove may "come out" of this but he damn sure won't smell like a rose; he'll stink like the turd blossom even dubya knows he is.

5. Why this, though?
after all th crimes, which they got away with, would this be anything but much ado about nothing?

I get the legal implications, but this crew does what they want to whomever they want. How long is the list of crimes right now? What has been done to stop them?

I'l TRY to have faith in Fitz, but Rove's an "evil genius".

6. I would say because Rove f***ed with the CIA
that really is asking for trouble. And there is NOTHING genius about Rove - he is able to do things that would make other people SICK - THAT is the secret of his "success"

7. "Rove f***ed with the CIA"
Yes, after further contemplation, and as well as asking a dumb question of my fellow forumers here:

I found a 2003 article about Tenet being blamed for the yellowcake debacle:

Bush lavishes Tenet, CIA with support
By Bill Sammon
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

ABUJA, Nigeria — President Bush yesterday praised CIA Director George J. Tenet a day after he took the blame for Mr. Bush's questionable claim that Iraq was trying to buy uranium from Africa.
.....

Hoping to shift attention to that broader aspect of the story, the White House appeared relieved that Mr. Tenet took the blame.
"The president is pleased that the director of central intelligence acknowledged what needed to be acknowledged, which was the circumstances surrounding the State of the Union speech," Mr. Fleischer told reporters at a Nigerian hospital Mr. Bush was touring.

4. 2 words
Special Prosecutor.

The WH can't control Fitzgerald, and they are they mother of all control-freak administrations. Every day the news gets worse for them and Rove, and now that Scooter Libby has been fingered as the other source, it goes to the top.

Rove is not going to come out of this smelling like a rose, he's going to come out of this smelling like somebody who at the very least committed a political smear job, which is his stock in trade.

You (or anyone else) can think that nothing will hurt them and we're all doomed, but in reality, nobody is bullet-proof for very long.

This is going to be a wild, woolly summer. Sit back and enjoy the ride..
