What was the greatest thread ever on DU? |
|
Or to put it another way, has anybody ever topped Mortos' "My name is..." thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=2587059I bet against. (For those who've never seen it, warning: it's fairly huge.)

|
It had over 350+ replies and the thread wasn't one of those word association, movie-chain, ask-me-anything, Skinner posted so we better reply type threads.
BTW, you know Oscar had babies!

But for laughs I don't know if you can beat the things not to say in the theatre while viewing Mel Gibsons Passion.
Somebody has that bookmarked I'm sure. It's killer.

|
the son was not sympatheic with DU, but he knew his father was.....so he showed his dad how to use the internet and helped him sign in at DU.......his dad wrote a few articles and posted frequently
I remember the son's announcement of his dad's death under his dad's name........it was great to know that a son loved his dad so much that he helped him enjoy something that he himself did not sympathise with

Got a lot more sympathetic to DU that day, that's for sure. For anybody who wasn't around in '03 or who otherwise haven't seen it before, warning: you'll cry like a baby.

I think it was right before the election and one of the online news outlets identified this one black guy as Barak Obama when it was plain as day that it wasn't. The posts that ensued were probably some of the funniest things I have ever seen. If anyone has this bookmarked please post it. I would love to see it again.

It was actually after the election, so I was having no luck finding it. Tried googling, and in the end it was some chowderheads at FR who tipped me off. (They even credited DU, though of course had to use an unlovely and uncreative nickname.)
