:eyes:

It is a couple weeks early. Give the kids a break.

Especially if you believe in cheap labor.

1. It's under a month away here...
THAT is why they are already running them.

2. Oh, that's nothing major,
All retailers are edging up their sale dates on all special days. Thus you get back to school in July, Halloween right after Labor Day, Christmas in October, etc. etc.

I find it really annoying myself, and refuse to buy any holiday items, no matter the holiday, until two weeks before the day in question.

3. Damn, I can't fricking wait.
My kids are driving me crazy this summer.

I saw the rows of new lunch boxes in the grocery store and the bins of notebooks and my heart swelled with happiness!

5. Did you ever see that Staples commercial?
The music is 'The Most Wonderful Day of the Year' and this dad is literally skipping with happiness through the store, buying school supplies. It is pretty funny.

4. Some schools start back in early August.
Someone here on DU said her kids go back Aug 10. When you compare this timeline to the Christmas ads, it's not at all too soon.

6. I saw back to chool ads in the local paper
School around here doesn't start until September. I usually didn't buy stuff any earlier than the week before school started, especially supplies. I didn't want to lose anything.

7. With that stupid smiley face thing?
God, I hate those fucking commercials. Since basically Wal-Mart is an evil, anti-labor, pro-sweatshop corporate entity that destroys the character of small towns and cities. To have some cutesy smiley thing in its commericals is disgusting.

8. Although I don't shop at Walmart, it's not too early for stores
to advertise their back to school sales. When I'm spending hundreds of dollars on that stuff, I often have to put it on layaway. Then it usually takes me till the end of summer to pay it off. My kids start school six weeks from today, so it is not too early for me to start shopping.

9. Ours starts in about a month.
I had to go to Walmart the other day to get the school supply list (they are the only place in town that the school provides the list to and they tell all parents to go to Walmart to get the list). And they are the only place in town that I can get a nap mat for my kid (required on the list for kindergarten). No one in town sells them except for them.
I'm not happy. I priced out the list and it'll cost me around $100 for kindergarten. I feel really bad for the families who make even less than I do. How can they afford to send their kids to school?
