So tell me more about Audioslave
First, mind you I don't listen to much mainstream radio. I mean it took me 10 years to realize how amazing Green Day is

So for some rare reason I actually turned on the radio station to the location rock station and they play one of the new songs by Audioslave and man does it really rock. Then I checked out their website (http://www.audioslave.com) and find that they're really into a ton of progressive causes which makes me even more interested.

So, is this a band worth investing some time & money into their music? Any Audioslaves out there?

1. The first album is very good...
haven't heard the new one yet.

If you ever enjoyed Soundgarden, you'll like Audioslave. Also, I highly recommend the Chris Cornell solo album called "Euphoria Morning".

Like I said, I rarely know the current bands
I'm the type of person who figures out the really great bands about 8-10 years after they've been around!

2. Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and...
Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine. What more could you ask for?

Ok, maybe a cameo from Zach. Where the hell is Zach?

3. They're basically Rage Against the Machine with a new lead singer
They don't sound the same, but they're mostly the same people. Tom Morello is the guitar player, and he's a big time libreal activist. I think he's even wearing a Unite! hat on the CD cover.

I haven't heard the new CD, though.

4. Like the others said, it's basically Rage Against The Machine...

With Chris Cornell (formerly of Soundgarden) replacing Zack De La Rocha.

Tom Morello, the guitarist, is a hardcore leftist and has a degree in political science from Harvard.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Morello (Some interesting stuff.)

Tom also has a non-profit organization that he co-founded with Serj Tankian of System of a Down called Axis of Justice. http://www.axisofjustice.org/
