what did you think of timburton's charlie and the chocolate factory?
i liked it. was against it and considered it an unnecessary remake (i'm a massive gene wilder fan)

but this one has enough of its own personality to stand on its own. better? no, but enjoyable for the burton-esque moments. depp was, for the first time in his career, a movie's weakest link. if only there was a way to pluck wilder from 1972 and drop him into this better-directed and realized version
