Maybe this is more suited to GD, but...

Can anyone remeber a sigular moment in which Berstein ethier became jaded with gub'ment and/or Woodward joined the machine?

Sure, I've known that WW has been a whore for quite some time now; I've also continued to respect Bernie.

...so, it wasn't exactly a shock watching them together, yet so apart, on the Daily Show, but it really brought home the difference between remaining as a neutral, curfious observer of tgub'ment and "one of them".

Yeah, I now WW is ex-Navy intel, but does it go farther than that?

(of course, the Jewish dude maintains his impartiality...yes I'm Jewish, and yeah, as a whole, we tend to keep a closer eye on gub'ment than most ;)

They grew old---they diverged----not uncommon. Aging changes people.

2. It appears that Woodward let Watergate go to his head as "HIS"
Carl didn't. He seems to have seen it for what it was... doing the right thing for the country instead of doing the right thing for his pocket. Woodward seems to have no definition of himself that is not followed with "one of the reporters behind the Watergate scandal exposure" tag line.

Good for Carl.

3. They really have. I've seen Bernstein on shows. He hates Bushco
and Woodward is essentially part of this Administration.

Woodward is doing a book on the second term so he hangs out at the WH all the time (remember the day the Deepthroat story broke - they had footage of Woodward leaving the WH).

Woodward has been on shows over the past week spouting the Republican talking points about Rove and Valerie Wilson. It is so disgusting. I'm so disappointed in him it makes me sad.

4. Watching the Daily Show I thought Woodward had a strang look.
Near the end, when Bernstein was talking, I caught Woodward with an odd look on his face. Maybe it's just me, but the look seemed to say "When did I lose that? When did I become such a hack?"

Maybe its just me, seeing that?

5. Remember that scene in "All the President's Men" when Woodward
reveals himself as a Repuke? Bernstein/Dustin Hoffman gives him a doubletake, like, are you shittin' me?

Seems he's been on the dark side a long time; however, he had his shining moment of youthful do-goodism and reverted into greed.

I met him and had a discussion with him about four years ago. He's a smart-ass jerk.

8. Nora Ephron Would Agree With You
I don't think I'd want to marry the guy, but he's less repulsive than Woodward.
