Metric volume
A metric liter is equal to approximately 1.056 liquid quarts
but only 0.908 dry quart.
Why is it not the same, liquid or dry?

On your two quart milk container or in my case on my empty two quart orange juice container it says; 1/2 GAL (1.89 L). That would be .945 L=1QT. No?

U.S. wet pints are 1/8th of U.K. wine gallons (231 cc), but U.S. dry pints (1 pint=268.8 cc) are based on the U.K. grain gallon (a.k.a. corn gallon or half-a-peck), which is bigger.
