ratemyprofessors.com is such a great resource for college students
I consult it every time I register for classes and it has yet to let me down. When I registered for my classes a few months ago the professors were only listed as staff so I couldn't use my trusty guide to help me out. But I checked my schedule again today and all the professors that I will have in the fall are listed and to my surprise, they all are cream puffs! 2 professors I've already had for several classes and know them very well and the other 3 I just looked up. One comment about my physics professor said something about "if you get less than a B in his class you are brain dead!" Oh happy day I'm not gonna fail physics!!!

www.ratemyprofessors.com just made my day!

1. wow-- I just found MYSELF rated there, LOL....
I have a 5.0 over all, but a low hotness rating. I'm concerned about that last bit....

At least they like you! I saw that some of my professors had bad ratings, when I think they deserve good ones!

17. No, you're looks AND brain...
Young, naive college girls find that too intimidating for their budding sexualities to tackle, so they don't even recognize the real deal when they see it...

10. I think it is a good idea, but looking over results from various schools
has led me to beleive that most of the students that post there are whiney, coddled brats. I am in the religion field, not even on the site yet, but I am still outraged at what I read. I am in a state institution, and my colleagues get messages like "clearly not a Christian." One colleage had both "bible thumper--avoid" and "not a Christian--avoid" as feedback on one of these sites. Actually having to crack a book, no extra credit, and keeping students all the way to the end of class gets a prof low marks. In other words, don't do your job. Valid issues, like "what did you learn?" do not figure in enough.

I have noticed that professors with accents, especially Asian professors, get low marks because they are difficult to understand. The idea is that the teachers are supposed to speak perfect English, the only worthwhile language in the world.

I do admit, though, that if a teacher has 15 comments over the course of years that say "teacher is poorly organized" or "teacher mocks students" warning flags should go up.

12. Wow, that was way fun!
Since I've been in college, on or off, for 18 years, through 4 colleges, I had a lot to check out. Still have two colleges to go. Rated all my favorite profs, but I've blocked the stinkers from my memory banks. Was very interested to see the philosophy professor who inspired and encouraged me to go to seminary rated at "anti-Christ." My guess is he didn't take any pat RW religious dogma in class from this jerkie boy. :)

However, some of the ones I knew best weren't rated.

20. My mom's on there.
They gave her a hotness of zero. Damn better.

More "best teacher ever!!!1!!1!" compliments for her than anywhere else, though.

Love ya, mom.

21. Only one professor I liked got a good rating
I think the main reason some people gave them bad ratings is because of the course work and they don't want to take responsibility for their own actions. I was a TA for as 300 level class rated there and there were people who barely attended class and didn't care enough about the subject to show any interest. I think those are the types rating many of the classes. For example one professor I took four classes with didn't make students take finals or midterms if their class participation was great. Someone claimed he failed because of this policy was biased towards people who talked alot. Of course he still could've taken a test or done a research paper but he didn't mention that.
