I'm willing to believe that she's matured since. She doesn't do anything for me, and never has, but I appreciate her staying power.

I can't say TOO much, but a family member of mine is associated in a major way w/an airline that provides private jet service to various celebs...this family member doesn't gossip but will answer questions and I learned that she's so high and mighty that she passes NOTES from her assistant(s) to the crew (including pilots and flight attendants)rather than speak to them directly, even when they're 2 feet away.

To clarify: she WRITES the notes, then hands them to her assistant(s) to distribute.

69. Teleprompters in concert? Weird.
Elvis had some giant cue cards for the 1973 Aloha satellite shows from Hawaii, held up at least at tiems during the show just below the main center-house camera, but I assume that's because they ran a tight schedule and wanted to keep him on track the whole time...also, he always had tremendous difficulty remembering the lyrics to "Burning Love."

68. it's only one song,
but it's THE sound of Rock n Roll. What the John Lennon quote? "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it Chuck Berry".

"Certainly the single most important black artist in rock and roll, Chuck Berry is arguably the most important figure, regardless of race, in rock history. The archetypal rock and roller, Chuck Berry melded blues, country, and a witty, defiant teen outlook into songs that influenced vitally every rock musician in his wake.

Berry achieved a number of firsts:

--The first guitarist singer to reach charts.

--The first rock and roller to write words that were relevant and entertaining to his young white audience with out alienating his core black audience.

--First songwriter/performer in 1955.

He achieved all of this with a driving rock and roll rhythm that was, if not brand new certainly unique enough to be instantly recognizable. For those reasons he more than any other artist, is responsible for the direction of popular music.

When performing his material Berry made sure to enunciate clearly, singing outside the standard blues realm, and he improvised lyrics that caused to audience to pay closer attention."

I used to work at a recording studio in the San Fernando Valley that Guns n' Roses recorded at. Axl was in the studio doing a demo for a band he was pushing. Slash was going to be on Letterman one night and we all went out to the lounge to watch. I see Axl sitting there with 4 empty coke cans in front of him. I then watched as he walked to the fridge and grabbed the last one out of my 6-pack.

The guy is a fucking multi millionaire and he drinks some poor, lowly assistant's cokes!!

38. Apparently!
A horn player who had been playing with Buddy Rich for many years came back from vacation to hear a rumour that Buddy had died. He didn't quite believe it, so he phoned Buddy's wife and said "Can I speak to Buddy please?"

Buddy's wife said, "I'm sorry, Buddy passed away last week."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," he said, and hung up.

A couple of hours later, he called her again. "Is Buddy there please?"

"No, I'm sorry. Buddy's no longer with us," said Buddy's wife. And hung up the phone.

Ten minuted later, he called Buddy's wife again. "Can I speak to Buddy please?" he said.

She recognised his voice, and said: "Look, I've told you before, BUDDY'S DEAD!" And slammed down the phone.

Two minutes later, and the phone rang again... "Is Buddy at home please?" the horn player asked.

Buddy's wife was furious. "I'm not going to tell you again, Buddy is dead.. D. E. A. D. DEAD. Why do you keep ringing me to ask for Buddy???!!!!"

He thought for a moment, and said: "I just love hearing you say it."

29. Agreed. I hated finding that out about him, but
when some of my buds met the band (long story about Patton and Italian dressing, wrapped in a newspaper), Jim says to one of my friends, out of the blue (she's a, well, she) "so are you gonna suck my ---- or what?" and she told him no. So he was like, "then what are you doing here?" and got up and walked away. There's more, but I'll spare the board...

Well, he was back in Dire Straits' '80s heydey. Outsized ego (WAY outsized, and he also considered himself basically the best guitarist ever built) and he and his bandmates thought they were gods that 'chicks' should bend over backwards to be with. Kinda went to their heads, I'd say.

Maybe he's changed, since, but he was a bozo back then.

119. Mick Jagger/Keith Richards.
First they fucked over the Stones' leader and creator (Brian Jones).

Then they ripped off a bunch of Robert Johnson tunes.

Mick drove several girlfriends, including Mirianne Faithfull, to attempt suicide. Not to mention cheating on every wife he's ever had.

Keith is known to steal guitars from his fans, just so he can add them to his collection.

An amusing story is one time in 1983 during Richards' bachelor party, Mick pissed off drummer Charlie Watts so bad he socked Mick in the face (the dude lost a LOT of fights, being an almost-anorexic male).

Mick was wearing Keith's wedding jacket, and Keith was more concerned about the jacket than he was about Mick.

Who else...
