Poll question: Do you feel financially secure? What is your view of money?
For the first time in a long time -- due to work and health setbacks beyond my control -- I don't feel that way. I'm still doing OK and haven't tapped out my nest egg, but as the medical bills start rolling in, it's starting to concern me. I'm not paying everything off in full to hang onto cash assets until circumstances change.

I've been poor before but haven't faced that in a long time. I think that adds to my anxiety since I don't want to ever go back to that place before.

So, what is your financial security level?
I think my stress level doesn't match the reality of the situation.

What is your philosophical approach to money?
I don't strive for wealth, but I like to be comfortable and have a little bit of fun. I love bargains and don't care about jewelry or designer brands. But, I'll splurge on things I really value, like a good bicycle or nice computer. I would love to be able to travel more, and would rather do that than have some big fancy house.

1. Last year I worked 7 months. The year before I worked 3 months.
This year I gave up on finding a programming job so I'm selling mobile homes on commission. I have a job - no income yet. However, this does have a lot of promise and it's not exportable.

Every time a repub gets in the WH I have to get a new career. Got ahead, ask me how much I like repubs in Washington.

2. That really sucks!
With housing costs as they are, I am sure there is a growing market there that you will be able to tap into. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.
