In case you were wondering, the new Son Volt cd is REALLY good. |
|
I'm only half-way through it, and I really like it.
It is a tad expensive because it's a "DualDisk", cd on one side, dvd on the other.

4. I might have to check that out. |

Glad their playing at Stubb's. I'm tired of seeing shows in tiny clubs. x(

5. I saw them at SXSW at Stubb's. They followed The Wallflowers. |
|
It was a wild scene. All the people who think they know music were cramming the front for The Wallfowers. As soon as they were done, all the people who know REAL talent moved up front. I could barely raise my hands to applaud. It was that packed.
I like everything about Stubb's except their staff. They hire some surly bastards.

Of course, my opinion of club/event staff is pretty low, anyway, so I'm probably a bad judge. Of course, I suppose a surly staff is better than a nonexistent staff (read: Emo's).

7. Ha!! People work at Emo's? |
|
Certainly no one cleans the men's room.
I saw Jay backed by Canyon at the Parish. That was a good size place for his solo stuff.

8. Is that the old Mercury? |
|
I can never remember what the Parish is?
Emo's is a good place to go if you're an asshat who likes to get up onstage and disrupt sets. Because no one will throw you off. No one from Emo's at least. Usually the one's who will throw you off the stage are pised off members of the band.
And that's when I applaud.

9. Yeah, the Parish changed its name when it was bought by Jazz. |
|
It was The Mercury.
I've never seen a bad show at Emo's truthfully, but I stick to what I like for the most part. Now, when I saw X there, Billy Zoom had his own bodyguard on stage with him.

3. Oh yeah, there's a song called "Endless War". |

"No moral face to an endless war."
