So I married this nice guy |
|
Didn't even kiss me until he asked me to be his girlfriend. Both of us had less then stellar relationship histories. He had multiple sclerosis. I knew that. He became the love of my life anyway. We made our own little brady bunch family together (empty nest now) Now I work. He no longer can. Every day is a challenge for him. He still walks and drives and pushes himself to do as much as possible every day. MS is a disease that can take you in little, tiny pieces or big chunks, and you never know which it's gonna be. He's my hero. There is no other man that measures up. Not a one. Could I have found someone else? Of course. But when I say nice, I mean deep soul nice. He gives a shit about folks. He's got this down to earth simple way of looking at life that I wish I could bottle and sell. Try looking at each sunset really knowing you might not be able to see it tomorrow because of the possibility of optic neuritis. Try mowing the lawn just to prove you still can. I was going to stay out of the bad boy fray, but I wanted to tell you all about this nice, wonderful powerful man that I've been with for a lot of years now. Yeah, he's got a little bad boy in him. But I got a little bad girl too.
