Warped Tour: not into it. |
|
1) $3.50 for bottled water on the hottest day yet this year, and no drinking fountains. Since water is necessary for life on Earth, that's fucking larceny.
2) Out of fifty bands, only ONE interesting one all day. Googol Bordello. Check 'em out.
3) The singer from My Chemical Romance needs to find another nonthreatening cutie-lad to pal around with who's also named Gerard, so they can be like Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.
4) Emo is the new hair-metal.
5) Emo is the new hair-metal.

1. Why on earth did you go to that? |
|
:wow:
And that guy from My Chemical Romance needs to be told that the whole "goth" look not only continues to be stale, but was stale when it started.

7. I think it was on some TV show. |
|
Bob Denver and Alan Hale were homosexuals stranded on a desert island with a Republican couple, a professor of pineapple physics, a good girl, and a skanky movie star.
I think.

10. I think he was gay too. |
|
Closeted, but nonetheless homosexual.
In fact, I think everyone on Gilligan's Island was gay.
Except for the Howells.
They were into S&M.

9. Work related - I was shooting pics. |
|
I ran my photographer through the wringer last week, she did like three times as much work as usual. So to give her a break I told her I'd shoot whatever the biggest pain in the ass was this week - her choice - and pay her as though she'd shot it. She chose well. God, that sucked. Googol Bordello was the only fun I had all day. Even ragging on crap bands wasn't any fun - ripping on Fallout Boy is so fish-in-a-barrel...

11. I figured it was work-related. |
|
I just don't see you buying tickets to Warped Tour to see emo bands scream about their problems on a hot day.

2. Austin City Limits festival was like that. |
|
Every day over 100 and only one bottle of water per person allowed. I spent more on water that weekend than I've spent on drunken benders.
At least the bands were really good for the most part. That made it just about worth it.

4. There's a new hair metal every 2 years now..... |
|
Grunge was the new hair metal. Then pop punk was the new hair metal. Then rap metal was the new hair metal Then emo was the new hair metal. Now the new hair metal seems to be faux goth metal
Hair metal was a reigning beast for close to 10 years. Nothing since has had that kind of a run.

It's the new wave revival, and immediately prior to that was screamo. Get with the program man. :) All the big Emo bands broke up. Kaput
What exactly are you referring to as emo? That Fall Out Boy type crap isn't emo even in the loosest sense. It's some sort of punk pop rock emo hybrid.

You're just bitter that The Used wasn't there, because you wanted to see Bert McCracken make out with Gerard Way?
