West Wing thread (PSTers and MSTers: Spoilers Likely) |
|
Let's spend the next hour imaginging what America would be like if we had a good moral man as president.

1. You know... I thought I'd miss Sorkin... |
|
...but the current story arc is pretty riveting.

The latest episodes are way too dark and edgy, and seem to lack focus; the actors don't look like they're enjoying themselves as much as they used to.
That said, I still think a half-assed "West Wing" beats just about anything else on TV these days. I'll keep watching......

8. speaking of "dark" ... |
|
They seem to be going out of their way to have murkily-lit scenes. For a while I thought they were going to break out the flashlights for an obligatory weekly appearance (as on the X-Files!). Okay, I can believe that the emergency shelter would be kind of dark -- but the White House? Did their lamp budget get cut?
I wonder if Leo is going to have some kind of major freak-out this season. I can see him crossing swords with CJ sometime soon (I don't think he will let the schedule-slippage thing slide).
How great to have a President who actually could give out decent hugs. (Bush does a quick grab and leans away -- sometimes you can see him looking around for the best camera angle as he does so.)

They should stop worrying about politics so mush. They don't have to stand before the voters ever again.

4. She's definitely more outspoken.... |

Both this week, and last week with that strange encounter with the President lying on the couch. I wonder where they're going with this? Leo has been a bit testy...although he had a lot on his plate this week.

9. The interaction between the characters |
|
makes it look more like a soap opera with each episode. I'm beginning to lose interest. I used to think it was the best thing on the idiot box.

6. I'm not enjoying it as much |

I don't know if it's just the story line or the Sorkin-less writing. But, as was said above, it's still far above any other show.

7. Josh yelling and screaming at the Capitol Building was a little too |

'ER' for me. I hate the melodrama. I'm still holding on to WW. I keep hoping it will improve, and dreading that it will get worse. It's not just the characters, but also the actors who look like they are not enjoying themselves.
