G.G. Allin Signature iPod
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 02:02 PM by Kire
I'm editing out the image because it violates the "Rules" against bodily fluids (even if it is only in shadow)
There's more funny signature iPods here: http://www.liebography.com/ipod.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suckdog

Suckdog

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The Suckdog Circus toured every state in the continental United States for several years, performing a mix of wrestling, musical performances, film-screenings and general audience agitation. The heart of the Suckdog Circus were the noise music operas written by Costes and Lisa Crystal Carver -- strange experimental fantasy stories with lots of blood, sex and audience agitation.

Performers in the Suckdog Circus include: Carver, Costes, Dame Darcy, Coz the Shroom, Nick Zedd and Helen Suckpuppy.

Suckdog also recorded four albums: Rape GG (1988), Drugs are Nice (1989), Little Flowers Dying (1990) and Onward Suckdog Soldiers (1998).

19. at the end of the movie...
Judge Worm orders pink to tear down the wall at the end of Pink Floyd's the wall.

Our topic was to write a brief for an appelat court eppealing the result of a trial in a movie. I chose to appeal the ruling to tear down the wall on the following grounds.
- Judgement as a matter of law was inappropriate as there was a material fact in dispute
- the order to tear down the wall was a violation of Mr. Floyd's 1st Amendment rights.

Here's an exerpt:

STATEMENT OF ISSUES PRESENTED FOR REVIEW

1. Did the trial court err by deciding the case as a matter of law when there existed an issue of fact that should have been decided by a jury?
2. Did the trial court err by failing to hold that an ordinance that discriminates against certain content by foreclosing a venerable means of communication, for which there is no alterative, is unconstitutional as it contravenes the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech?

SUMMARY OF THE ARGUMENT

The court below improperly held that the mural on Mr. Floyd’s wall constituted fighting words and was, therefore, not subject to First Amendment protection. This application of the fighting words doctrine is improper, as the proper standard is whether the words would cause the average addressee to breach the peace. In the present case, the mural and its message cannot be understood by the reasonable person to cause the average addressee to breach the peace. Because a decision as a matter of law can only be made when there is no issue of material fact, the decision was improperly made here, as whether the mural was an expression of fighting words is an issue of fact to be decided by a jury.
Furthermore, the court erred by not holding that the town ordinance was an unconstitutional abridgement of free speech. A content-based regulation of speech is permissible only when the restriction survives strict scrutiny; a content-neutral restriction must be narrowly tailored and there must exist ample alternate channels of communication. The Pleasantville ordinance violates the First Amendment, as it is a content-based regulation that prefers commercial speech to non-commercial speech. Even if the ordinance were content-neutral, it is not sufficiently narrowly tailored and ample alternative channels of communications are not available in lieu of the abridged medium. The ordinance, therefore, is an unconstitutional restriction on free speech.

23. oh, I thought you meant this Pink

that's pretty cool, I wish I could go to law school and do all that neat shit

but, I'm happy to have studied anthropology...

the cool thing about the class I studied punk rock in was that the teacher introduced several students to GG Allin, and each student got to write papers about their own tastes in music...there was one guy in boots and braces who wrote a fascinating piece about mods and rockers. Fascinating, to me, because at the time, nobody ever taught me the history of what is now punk rock.

Strangely, he was a very nice guy. And his brother Merle played around in a few Boston bands from the late 70s to the mid-80s.
