DO do Do do ...DO do Do do ...DO do Do do... |
|
Yahoo is not sending my emails that have political content.
I can send and receive other ones.
I've sent a few emails of articles about Iran or the Pentagon or something with a copy sent to me. And they have not been getting through to me or to other people either.
I sent an innocuous one and it went through.
Ok - I broke one down into parts and it finally went through (like the second part was held up for 10 minutes) - but there is something funny going on.

Are they censoring you? If so, how DARE they? Is Big Brother watching? Well, I'm pretty sure he is, but he should NOT interfere with our ability to communicate with each other! Sheesh!

if someone is censoring me in particular. (I do know people in gov't - so it's possible).
It's disturbing to think I can't send friends news and stuff - or know if it got sent.

2. Hmmm.... Have you tested for size of mail? |
|
Perhaps there's some Yahoo limitation on a single mail?
Try a short political content e-mail equal in length to the innocuous one you say got through, and a VERY Long Personal mail equal in size to any of the political mail you've had trouble sending. That'll be a valid test.

with just the name pentagon in it and it went through.
I just sent a long non-political one and it went right through, also.

6. Oh yeah - and the ones that did go through in parts |
|
I took the word "Pentagon" out of the title.

Sure does make me glad I'm not using Yahoo, though.

3. I have been reading posts for days about Yahoo censering |
|
email and message board content. I think this deserves a closer look.

that they have apparently gotten so good at putting up blocks to things.
I hadn't heard of others reporting the problem.

10. I had posted on DU about mysterious e-mails but didn't include all the |
|
relevant info... Seeing this DUer's post confirms something ill is going on.
Hmmm, I wonder if the pay-for mail sites keep track of what people write?

13. I had read recently about Google |
|
being able to have an inordinate amounts of info on people - what with email and keeping track of searches and whatnot.
So - I suppose that all the big companies are doing it.
But to stop stuff from being sent - that's really aggravating. And I wouldn't have known if I hadn't sent copies to myself.

16. Yipes. What if I google something and one of the results is |
|
something deemed "unsavory"?
At what point do they take the computer out of the equation and use their brains; apart from never? (they won't for credit reports when looking at apartment or job searches even though the background story might have relevance as well...)

15. Whoops. YES. It was Yahoo. 100% absolutely. And I ain't sayin' |
|
"Yahoo!" to the fact that some NON-POLITICAL e-mails also vanished; I asked a co-worker today if he had received the e-mail I sent on Monday! And that had NOTHING to do with anything even remotely political; so maybe yahoo's made-in-China filter isn't good enough or set too wide.
2 other people didn't get my NON-POLITICAL e-mails either but likely had key words yahoo's drunk filter decided were politically-related.
