There are a finite number of things in its database, and every answer disqualifies a good number of items.

Eventually, it's left with one thing. If it's not, than nobody has ever suggested it, and it'll ask you to supply a question that applies to it and not what was guessed. And then, the next time someone guesses it, that question'll come up.
