Rating Yahoo Stories: Does This Ever Happen To You...?

I usually spend a few moments to rate stories on Yahoo, mostly because a good chunk of the 'headlines' that appear on their main page are absolutely calorie-free in terms of relevant news content (I mean, the Olsen Twins and the Naked Tickler as worthwile news? I should think not!).

Yet, a lot of times I find that stories have already been 'pre-rated' by me, even though I never rated. Right now I tried to rate up the story "Kerry Seeks Release of Roberts' Documents," but found that I had already rated it 1 star - not exactly the rating I would have chosen.

I suppose these stories may actually be cross-linked in a database or something, but I find it curious that some stories I go to rate already have a rating that does not reflect my views. Anyone else notice that?
