Anybody out there remember the band Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band? |
|
I was going through my collection of old LPs and came across this one. I put it on the turntable and forgot how much it rocked.

I remember it as being pretty idiotic at the time, but maybe I'd warm up to it through the haze of nostalgia.

5. Hell yeah....they were great! |
|
They were all the rage in DC for awhile during the late seventies. Great songs: "Too sick to reggae", You broke my mood ring", "I'm not too old for you.
The backup singers ("The Rootettes") were great too!
I saw many rockin' Root Boy shows.
They went to LA to hit the big time, did a show at the Roxy, all the record companies were there, but, alas, when they saw the show they didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
