I recall seeing an analysis or "translation" of the lyrics to Don McLean's song "American Pie"... but unfortunately, whenever I try to Google for it, the only thing I come up with are the actual lyrics, but not anything that explains them.
For example: I know that "the day the music died" is a reference to the day that Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper were killed in a plane crash.
But who was the Jester that sang for the King and Queen? The King is probably Elvis... but who's the Queen... and who's the Jester?
Does anyone recall ever seeing an analysis like that? Do you have a link?
